Achieving optimal room acoustics in lecture theatres can be a challenging task with the main aim in creating a multi use space that can project a sound throughout the room to ensure all can hear clearly.
Reverberation and sound transmission must be closely managed along with minimising any potential background noise.
The Project
Working on this Mclaughlin & Harvey project over a 5 week period with our involvement commencing at an stage and through a part of the design process with the Main Contractor, Manufacturer and Architect, we were proud to install such a high quality specification manufactured by Stil Acoustics. The product specified was a combination of white laminate, ash veneer and all accompanied by a ash twig detail on a black core MDF with Class O fire protection, this was installed throughout the main lecture theatre and the collaborative learning space ready for handover in October 2017.
The architect and designers had a clear and specific vision for the acoustics and the appearance of the timber paneling throughout these important areas of the university.
